Newly launched tech-enabled MGA Aurenity confirms the appointment of Douglas Trainor as Chief Underwriting Officer. Trainor was previously head of Casualty and Professional for Brit USA in a role that spanned General Liability, Excess Casualty, Cyber, MPL and Public Entity. He has also held positions with Catlin and The Hartford. Trainor will be based in Aurenity’s new West Hartford, CT office and is the latest executive to join after the appointments of Patrick Safino from Travelers and Janet Beaver from TMHCC earlier this year.
Commenting on the hire, Aurenity’s CEO Nick Davies said “I worked with Doug for many years, and we are delighted to welcome him to our management team. He has the technical underwriting experience and strong distribution credentials imperative to the expertise led and tech-enabled MGA we are building.”
Aurenity launched in January backed by investor Agman with $10m seed funding. Davies confirmed that Aurenity’s build-out is on track, with a number of key technology partnerships signed and capacity for its initial excess casualty product near completion. Aurenity plans to be live in Q3 and has appointed Guy Carpenter to place its reinsurance program.
